Hi. I see you're new here. That's cool. To find out what this site is about, please read this page. You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. It's free, you won't receive any spam from me (like, ever), but more importantly: you'll never miss a single word. Thanks for visiting!

Routinely dieticians, fitness freaks and/or health nuts will tell us that to lose weight one must eliminate fast foods from one’s diet. That to have any hope of shedding those precious pounds, the last thing you can do is be eating hamburgers and greasy fries.Specifically, they’re talking about McDonald’s.
McDonald’s has become the Satan reincarnate of food. Worse than that, somehow the blame for the highly-reported statistical rise in Western obesity, particularly amongst children, has been placed squarely at the feet of those magnificent golden arches.
Ronald McDonald is bearing the weight of all the fat people in the world. That has to hurt.
I say: what about the parents? What about personal responsibility? What about putting the fork down and walking away?
That aside, fast food has its place. This truism becomes particularly apparent if and when you find yourself on the road. We’d all like to have the time and money to be eating at Claridges, The Fat Duck or even Nandos for each and every meal, but, let’s face it, that’s probably not going to happen. Not that any of those places is going to provide you with a meal that’s any lower in fat or calories. The point is, everybody is on a budget some of the time, and that’s where McDonalds, and its siblings (KFC, Burger King and Subway), step up.
They’re cheap.
Here, then, is the fast and easy way for you to eat fast and easy whilst on the road, taking in as many as your three full squares per day, and still lose weight. Don’t think it can be done? Check it out:
(”5-Day Fast Food Eating Plan“, Excel Spreadsheet, 18 KB).
Download this. Open it. Print it out. Put it in your wallet or purse, and when you’re next out and about, refer to it. Each main meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) comes in around 600 calories or less, and you even have the option of one 200 calorie snack, as well.
Assuming you take advantage of all of these great offers the total calories you will be eating in any one day is 2000. Calorie RDAs (Recommended Daily Allowances) for are pegged at 2500 for a man and 2000 for a woman. However, the average person eats a little bit more than that, certainly when they’re away from home. It’s very easy at these fast food chains to eat well over 1000 calories in one sitting (without really doing much).
That fat intake is not low - this is convenience food, after all - but it’s not above the RDA for a man, either (95g - which in my opinion is way too high, but will suffice for the purposes of this program).
This spreadsheet will help you eliminate temptation and guide you on the right path. It’s even colour-coded - what more do you want?
The meals don’t suck, either - nobody wants a bag of apples and a bottle of Evian for lunch.
Would I recommend you do this each and every day for the rest of your life? No. But for the sake of a few days or even a week, you’ll do fine.

It all sounds fantastic, but who REALLY wants to eat fast “food” that often? (Note: I put quotes around the food because I don’t believe it’s worthy enough to be called food) *grin*
Well, you wouldn’t feel great after doing this constantly for any significant period of time, agreed. However, sometimes there’s no other option but junk, either through time, lack of options or budget - and on an occasional basis there’s nothing wrong with that at all. This is a little extreme, but the point is that you can do it if you have to, and not worry too much about the consequences.
Think of it as a considered defense against the equally extreme hype of Super Size Me.
