Fact: Bridget Fonda hasn’t appeared in a film, or even as a character in any TV show, since 2002.
Her last film appearance was The Snow Queen. (Yeah - I never saw it, either.)
Fonda, who of course is the daughter of Peter Fonda and the niece of Jane (as well as sporting Larry Hagman as her Godfather), appeared (uncredited) in the seminal Easy Rider (1969), and won a Golden Globe in 1990 for Scandal. You’d never hold her up as a great actress but she’s certainly both credible and easy-on-the-eye. I really liked her in Singles (1992), Jackie Brown (1997) and Lake Placid (1999); less so in The Assassin (1993).
Essentially, she gave up her career after meeting and then getting married to former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman, who composed The Simpsons theme song, as well as the scores for several notable Tim Burton films, and he’s worked consistently for the past five years.
The couple have one child, but this alone surely cannot explain such a unique decision on Fonda’s part. Her career after Lake Placid really seemed to take a dive, and even four episodes on the oddly-popular The Chris Isaak Show in 2002 couldn’t turn things around.
It’s a real shame, though, because at-peak, she was hot.

I mean, sure, it’s very surfer-chick/girl next door, but there’s not much to dislike there.Fonda was 44 earlier this year. One suspects she may be well past the point of no return.
What’s your favourite Bridget Fonda performance?

Just today I watched some program she hosted and I too got to wonder what happened to her?
I can’t believe shes 44 now, but thats young with me pushing 57.
Well, if shes happy, thats all that counts.
Best to Bridgett,
I was watching The Kiss of Death–and wondered what happened to her.I assumed she must have made some very bad movie choices–and things dried up. She seemd to either not receive first rate starring opportunities, or made poor decisions–regarding her roles. She was good in that flick where she was the young runaway underground assassin chick–with Harvey Kietel trying to kill her–very good job. She should have accomplished more–
