GoogleGoogle is a very resourceful tool.

Previously I told you how you can use the popular search engine as a dictionary.

It’s also has a very useful (and conveniently-accessed) calculator feature, too.

Open Google. Enter any basic mathematical sum you like, straight into the search box, and hit the Enter/Return key (or click on the search button).

For example:

So what, you say. I have a calculator sitting here, right on my desk.

But it’s better than that. Much better.

Google’s calculator has several built-in functions that are really incredibly useful. Enter any of the examples below, or click on them to see the end results (and then experiment with your own).

For example, the square root function: sqrt.

Exponentiation (to the power of):

Google even understands fairly complex conversion measures.

Browse the full list of calculator functions at Google’s calculator page. Once you’re used to its incredibly simple (and intuitive) interface you’ll find it an amazing time-saver.
